Performing and playing.
Over the years I have had extensive experience playing with Big Bands, Jazz Orchestras and Small Band line-ups. I have performed regularly with The Taverners Big Band, Swing Unlimited Big Band, Regular Joes, The Boogie Bumpers amongst others. Concerts and gigs have taken me all around the world to such places as Buckingham Palace, Russia, Czechia, Amsterdam, France, Germany, Spain, Northern Ireland and more.
I direct and play Alto Sax and Clarinet with The Red Fez Orchestra and Tenor Sax with The Bevin Boys. I am also happy playing more modern jazz & pop. Once in a while you will see me depping for Funkmeister and Ubermeister. I am no stranger to playing in function bands or night clubs accompanying the DJ.
I also have my own Jazz Quartet which regularly plays for functions and weddings. We can augment this line up with our fabulous vocalist. This group can also be paired down to a duo comprising of myself on saxophone and a vocalist. We use high quality backing tracks for accompaniment.
My latest love has been the Red Fez Orchestra which is an 11 piece dance band playing repertoire from 1920s to the 1940s. This eccentric line-up consists of some of the best musicians from around Dorset & Hampshire. The band sits well at festivals, theatre gigs, weddings, functions and is always very entertaining.
