About Me

James Rawlinson is a Bournemouth based Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute player and teacher. His music teaching studio is based in Pokesdown in Bournemouth, Dorset.

I am professional musician and teacher with over 30 years of experience. I teach in several schools in the area as well as tutoring privately in Bournemouth. My private studio is based in Pokesdown, Bournemouth. I am now back in my studio teaching face to face lessons as well as on zoom for those who prefer.

My experience includes teaching one to one at all levels, all ages (beginner to advanced) as well as running training ensembles and bands. I teach Classical & Jazz graded examination preparation for ABRSM & Trinity Syllabuses as well as Music Theory.

I have helped young musicians gain entry to music courses at some of the most prestigious U.K. conservatoires including The Royal Academy, Royal College, Royal Northern College, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London College of Music, LIPA and many more. Whether you are beginning your journey playing or are at an advanced level wanting to improve, I hope to point you in the right direction to improve further.
